Mask Strap Efficiency

This simple but useful tool is designed to make face masks less painful to wear for medical workers treating coronavirus patients.

The part is made by printing a set, and then connecting with any filament which will also set its width.  In this way, the filament which is needed for a single print is reduced and 18 sets on a 250x250mm print bed are allowed.

Small protrusions on both sides of the plastic buckle hold the mask strap and the mask strap does not exert painful pressure on the ears.

Sterilising Lamp by Frank Chou

Frank Chou's Sterilising Lamp combines an ultraviolet (UV) light with a tray, and would ideally be kept by the entrance to the user's home for them to put items in such as their mobile phone, keys or wallet as they enter the room. The user would press the cover body to activate the internal UV light source, the body then lowers to cover the items in the tray with the UV light. After 60 seconds the cover automatically rises to reveal the now-sterilised items again. Frank Chou aimed to create an "unconscious design" when creating the lamp, which he hopes can blend into the home and become part of people's daily routine, as opposed to a disinfection method that they consciously have to think about doing. Suquo Systems Surgical Mask Ear Bypass This is a very simple but useful part that can help hold your surgical mask tighter to your face. It helps eliminate the obvious gap that most people have on the sides of their face when wearing a surgical mask. Link: https://grabcad.com/library/suquo-systems-surgical-mask-ear-bypass-1
Baxter Ventilator Aim: The Baxter Ventilator was designed especially to find a solution a shortage of ventilators during a pandemic. How do Baxter Ventilator work? The ventilator provides volume control continuous mandatory ventilation (VC-CMV). The tidal volume, respiratory rate, inspiratory to expiratory time (I/E), positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP), and fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) can all be set on a touch screen or through manual controls. For the patient's safety, the maximum Peak Inspiratory Pressure (PIP) will not exceed 40 cm of water. To allow for use in field hospitals, the ventilator can use ambient air, high or low pressure oxygen. Findings: the prototype metts the appropriate criteria and produced results similar to industry-standard ventilators when testing on a Gaumard HAL S3201 simulator.
